Fantastic Mr Fox

I’m going to pull together two unrelated fox stories in this post. Both come tagged ‘amazing’. Or Fantastic, if you will.

The first is New Year’s Eve, when we were all off out to a party. The geese and swans were stood on the ice at the bow of the boat (around 9″) gathered together, as is their wont, but it seemed like they were having a party of their own, almost as if they knew.

Suddenly, there was an almighty Kerfuffle. This isn’t entirely unusual – birds are very territorial creatures – but several birds cams charging over the ice, half walking, half flying, and there, right behind them, was a fox. Yes, you heard, a fox, running across the frozen ice!

My second tale is only linked by the name. The fantastic Mr Fox, who yesterday whipped watches from arms, produced wedding rings from sealed envelopes and other marvels at our boatwarming party.

It was lovely!

People came from miles to be with us, and I’m sure, in no small part, this was to examine our slightly BoHo lifestyle. We loved it!

We love the peace and serenity of our lifestyle, but it was great to see so many of our friends and family in one place, at the same time. We didn’t think any more than around 20 people would want to come. In the event there were 70 or 80. Once I realised that there would be a bigger party, I wanted an entertainer, and who better than the magician who played my sister’s wedding, Robert Fox.

I have no idea how he does it. All I can say is people were screaming with suprise, enthralled at his magic, and the word Witchcraft was mentioned more than once. Absolutely awesome!
